This adult collared pika (Ochotona collaris), was making a short call, before heading out to collect for - preparing for winter.  On this cool fall day in Alaska, this alpine lagomorph was running from the boulder fields to the meadow to gather food.   He is closely related to the American pika (O. princeps), who reside in the western united states.

The collared pika reside in parts of Alaska and in parts of Canada, including northern British Columbia, Yukon, and western parts of the Northwest Territories.
