Eye of the Grizzly
Grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horribilis) have many strengths, are highly intelligent and have excellent smell and memories. They are a good swimmers and a fast runners, reaching speeds as high as 50 km/h (35 mph) over land. Young, juvenile grizzlies canclimb trees though this skill is less of an option as they become bigger.

Once abundant throughout the American West, grizzly bears today live only in five distinct recovery areas in the lower 48 states and in sparsely inhabited areas of Canada. Grizzly bears have a very low reproductive rate.
